DOWNSVIEW URBANISM(S)

Cities are constituted by multiple, interconnected forms of urbanism. The interplay of these forms underlies and shapes the spatial - and social, cultural, political, environmental, energetic, infrastructural, technological, etc. - identity of a place.  These identities, however, are everchanging and demand new forms of urbanism in return.

With construction, obliteration, and transformations happening at all times and everywhere, urban environments are anything but stable and need constant calibration

Our concept explores the insularity of the Downsview site - which appears as a hole, separated by boundaries from its surrounding landscape.
